Go birding in Namibia on a Safari Wise Safari
Namibia is a vast country. It is a very fascinating country with diversity ranging from the dry desert to the riverine forests of the Caprivi. For the birder this place is wonderful to explore Certainly the best way to do a birding tour through Namibia is to go on tour with regional experts.
Tours mean peace of mind about the distances that need to be covered on a Namibian tour. It also means getting to the right place at the right time. Obviously the greatest advantage is the knowledge behind the guiding..helping you find Namibia's facinating birds.

What to bring
What should you bring on a birding Safari in Namibia? Certainly good binoculars are a must. A lot of the time will be spent birding from vehicles, but some birding will be on foot and maybe even on boats (Caprivi and perhaps Walvis Bay,) One doesn't want to much weight, but on the other hand, not having enough power will also be a problem, especially in area like Etosha where one cannot get out of the vehicle for a closer look. Good quality 10x binoculars are perhaps the best option.
A spotting scope is also useful, and should be brought with a simple cover for long trips in the vehicle.
Southern Africa is rich with field guides and many are good and to a large extent it is a personal preference. Our recomendation is to use the "Sasol Birds of Southern Africa" by I. Sinclair, P. Hockey & W. Tarboton, which is widely avaiable (currently in it's third edition.)
Be aware that the coasts can be cool even in summer, and therefore if you plan to spend any time there, it will be good to bring a few warmer items of clothing.
Good walking shoes are also recommended.
Be sure to seek out medical and other advice from professionals before traveling to Namibia. This advice is mainly for birding and by no means comprehensive.
